Support for participation in everyday life.
Occupational therapy considers how sensory processing, motor skills, neurotype, relationships, environments, and personal goals shape daily life. Birdwalk provides individualized, neuro-affirming support for children and adults across home, school, work, and community settings.
More than isolated skills.
Birdwalk’s occupational therapy approach is neuro-affirming and relationship-based, informed by neurodevelopmental science, and grounded in an understanding of the whole person—not isolated skills. We consider sensory processing, regulation, daily life, relationships, environments, and personal goals.
With children, we often ask what charges their battery and what drains it. Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with this child?” we ask, “What is this child’s nervous system telling us?”
That understanding helps us identify strengths and support needs, develop meaningful goals together, and shape practical support around the person and family.
Different questions call for different kinds of support.
Some people and families come to Birdwalk seeking a clearer understanding of strengths and support needs. Others are ready for therapy, focused consultation, or an independent educational evaluation. We help identify the most useful starting point based on the question being asked, current needs, and the goals that matter most.
Assessment
Individual or interdisciplinary assessment to understand strengths, support needs, sensory processing, regulation, motor skills, daily participation, and environmental factors. When a broader perspective is needed, multiple disciplines contribute to a more complete picture.
Therapy
Individualized occupational therapy shaped by assessment, current needs, and goals developed together. Therapy supports regulation, daily activities, access, autonomy, and meaningful participation across everyday settings.
Consultation & Parent Intensives
Focused, collaborative guidance for parents and caregivers seeking a deeper understanding of a child’s nervous system and support needs. Parent intensives create dedicated time to clarify priorities and develop practical strategies for routines, relationships, regulation, and environments.
Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs)
An independent occupational therapy evaluation that examines a student’s educational access, participation, and support needs. Findings provide an additional perspective to help inform educational planning and the IEP process.
Individualized care across different stages of life.
Birdwalk provides occupational therapy for children and adults, as well as consultation for parents, caregivers, schools, workplaces, and organizations.
Services are shaped around each person’s strengths, preferences, goals, and environment.
